CHANDLER, Ariz. — The City of Chandler, in consultation with the Downtown Chandler Community Partnership (DCCP) and its constituents, has installed temporary 30-minute parking signage in the Downtown Historic Square. The free parking will provide customers and visitors with convenient parking as they head to Downtown to pick up takeout from local eateries or a quick shopping trip.

The 30-minute parking is situated in front of small businesses located at:

  • Along San Marcos Place, from Boston Street to Commonwealth Avenue;
  • Along Boston Street, from Arizona Avenue to mid-block Oregon Street.

“Downtown Chandler is home to a host of wonderful variety of local businesses, and like other local businesses nationwide, many are adapting during the current public health emergency,” said John Carter Owens, Chandler’s Downtown Redevelopment Specialist. “As businesses continue to serve their patrons with carryout and delivery options, they also are preparing to open their doors in the coming weeks. This will provide customers easier access to support our Downtown merchants.”

“We appreciate this additional accessibility as patrons return to their favorite places in the Downtown,” said Mary Murphy-Bessler, executive director of the DCCP. “Our businesses are gearing up to safely open their doors and welcome customers back to the Downtown — anything to make it more convenient for their patrons is supported.”

Like all parking in Downtown Chandler, these temporary parking spots are free to all visitors. For a map of all free parking available, including nearby parking garages, visit chandleraz.gov/parking. A list of Downtown businesses, along with hours of operation and online menus, is available at the DCCP website at downtownchandler.org/takeout.
